Purpose
In the 21st century classroom rapidly evolving technology and education are inseparable. Most educators cannot imagine using a typewriter after having used a PC.
However, when it comes to more advanced applications of new
technology, teacher knowledge falls below student knowledge.
Lamentably, teachers do not take advantage of the many uses of
technology in the classroom. Instead of integrating technology into a
lesson plan, teachers often rely on the same methods their teachers used.
Thus, instead of teachers introducing students to new technology
or new uses of technology, students introduce teachers to new
technology and its sundry uses. We learn from students everyday. It makes us better teachers. However, as teachers, it is our responsibility to provide our students with the most thorough and relevant education that we can muster. But how relevant can our teaching be if we aren’t using technology as a tool for more learning? Will our students be fully prepared for a job in engineering, business, fine arts, or medicine without being proficient in a variety of digital tools? Will our students feel confident enough to experiment with the technology available to them? Will students be equipped to utilize new and updated digital tools intuitively?
We’re here to help. Our purpose is to make the connection of education and technology as clear and seemless as possible.
We want to ensure that you get the full benefit of whatever technology you use in your classroom. This blog will provide free information about the uses of technology in the classroom through articles, video tutorials, and audio.
Our desire is that students around the world may enhance their education through technology. By using digital tools, students will be able to learn more efficiently and effectively, whatever academic discipline they tackle.
We want to equip teachers and students with the skills necessary to analyze and critique tools of technology and multimedia texts.
