Weekly Gathering
October 24th, 2009 by tic@technologyinclass.com

How was your week this week? The school year is going by quickly already. As my aunt always says, no matter what time of year, “Pretty soon it’ll be Christmas!” She’s always right.
- I’m reading Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman
and I’m wondering what it would be like to have Pat Tillman in my class as a youngster. What do you do that energy? How would I channel his talents to bring out his academic potential? I’m sure I’d harness his kinesthetic intelligence.
- The Archbishop of Canterbury weighs in on the state of education in England.
- 35 free games and resources for teachers.
- If you don’t know who Theodore Sizer is, read this. Sometimes, I need to read encouraging stories about real educators that made a tangible impact on the way I teach today.
- Microsoft is now selling their own brand of PCs.
- Great article on e-readers. My question is: Is the e-reader really a revolution, or just an improvement on technology that is already in everyday use?
- Health and education again. I have a feeling this topic is not going to go away until we shape up. I wrote about the correlation between healthy eating and effective teaching.
