Weekly Gathering

How’s that time change working out for you? I’m so glad to awaken just as it’s getting light. The dark mornings were getting to me. Anyone else see a conspiracy between the candy companies and the late time change? Is it just a coincidence that we “fall back” after Halloween?
I just like the light as a result of the time change. I agree with Goethe: mehr licht!
Here’s the week’s pertinent links:
- We have a new director of educational technology.
- Parents have a message for schools.
- Should elementary schools departmentalize?
- Santa Fe deliberates on where to make cuts. Many schools, I’m sure, are in the same boat.
- If I taught in Hawaii, I’d want a shorter school year too. I gave my reasons in no more summer vacation.
- Students, get to work on those college applications! Here’s what schools are looking for. Be nice to your teachers so they can write you an awesome recommendation letter.
- It’s report card time for many schools. However, those may not necessarily be paper cards! I applaud these schools for making the paperless report card a reality.
That’s it for this week. Send along any links that can be included here.
