Weekly Gathering
November 28th, 2009 by tic@technologyinclass.com

Here’s the week’s interesting links for your Saturday perusing pleasure. Most of us will have a little more time to read.
- Would you use this hand-held device for tests?
- Not sure if I agree with this quote from a principal in New Jersey about Twitter: “I can honestly say it’s the most powerful learning tool that I’ve ever experienced in my education career.” I think I’ll use that quote when I teach “overstatement” as vocabulary.
- Saw facebook comments on University of California tuition hikes. Take a look at the picture right under the headline. The look on the face of the young woman with the red bandanna says a thousand words–probably more, and that is not overstatement!
- O how writing has changed! “Kids are now writing for real audiences and for real purposes, not just other kids in the class or the refrigerator door. And they are composing on computers and on phones in text and multimedia. These are substantial changes.”
- Search for a topic in this monster. It’s an entire encyclopedia of educational technology.
