There is no doubt that many of you have access to an interactive whiteboard in your classrooms.
What is the problem you ask? The problem is that activities can take too long to create. There is a simple solution to that. During the last school year we accumulated quite a list of free, already created for you, interactive whiteboard activities. Take a look.
Here is the list: Free Interactive Whiteboard Activities

The interactive whiteboard is a great teaching/learning tool for those that are fortunate to have access to one.
The time it takes to create lessons/activities can often be too much. Here is a site that can ease the pain. The Center School District Educational Technology site has these free templates for you to use. Just click on the one you are interested in and you have the option to open it (not a download) or download it (save to your computer).
This resource will also be located on the TIC Recommends page.

If you do need free SMART board activities keep reading. SMART board resources are always a hot topic on this site. I’ve written about free SMART board activities/lessons in the past (here, here, here, and here to be exact).
This time I have a new one; it comes from the Longwood Central School District Smartboard Lessons page. There are free activities for Elementary, Middle/Jr. High, and High School. All you have to do is click on the activity you want and save the file to your computer and it’s ready to be used. I hope you find something for your classroom.
This resource will also be located in the TIC Recommends page along with the many other resources we have reviewed.

Looking for SMART board activities for your classroom but don’t have the time to create something? You have to check with SMART Exchange before going any further. The site is packed with activities which can be directly downloaded for free. Two features I recommend:
1. Search by subject. Everything from the “core” subjects to art, ELL/ESL, health, special education, and ICT are included.
2. Search Standards-Correlated Lessons. You can find the state you are in and then pick the grade and subject you are looking for. For each standard they give you the correlating lessons.
This review will also be on our TIC Recommends page, along with all the other reviews that we conduct.

Why I didn’t hear of this site before I have no idea. The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives is a great site for mainly math but many of the manipulatives are just good thinking/problem solving for all classes.
They have activities for Pre-K to 12. Subjects include number and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data analysis/probability.

Looking to spice up your Math class? Want to integrate an interactive whiteboard? Try multiplication.com. There are a variety of games, teaching tools, and resources that you can try for your classroom to stimulate learning.
A game that comes highly recommended is Granny Prix and Fish Shop.
This resource was submitted to us via our submission form on the TIC Recommends page. Muliplicaton.com will also be listed as a resource website on the TIC Recommends page.

After much time our TIC Technology In Class website is up and running. We are proud of the product, but it is in no way complete. I hope it never is because as education and technology changes we will too.
TIC is a site for us, teachers. All of us. So spread the word.
Among the pages you will see on the site is the Technology Tutorials. It’s dedicated to free video tutorials of everything from Microsoft to SMART board. This page is an easy to access listing of what teachers need to know in order to incorporate technology into their classrooms.
A section of the Technology Tutorials page I find very useful for my teaching are the SMART board video tutorials. Everything from the basics to more advanced uses are covered. Take a look.
Feedback is welcome, please leave a comment below or on our Facebook page.
As always, peace.

The Wichita School District U259 has great free downloadable SMART board lessons. It’s really well organized by grade levels and subjects. Everything from Kindergarden to High School is there. I tried downloading a few and they worked fine, I’m going to use one about the moon with my students next week. You will actually be downloading the finished lesson, which will be a SMART board file.
We have written about free interactive whiteboard lessons before, here and here. Take a look at them too.

PBS Kids has games that are specifically designed to be used with interactive whiteboards. The games are mostly for primary grades and include games for Language Arts, Social Science, The Arts, and Math.
Not to long ago we had a post (here) from SMART Technologies that have a ton of pre-made activities/lessons. Take a look.
This review/resource will also be located on our TIC Recommends page along with other resources.

An interactive whiteboard of any kind is an engaging tool for any class. They can transform a boring lesson into an interesting one. SMART has created an interactive whiteboard that has become common in districts that are fortunate to have funds for them. Speaking from experience I know that a lot of time goes into creating activities or lessons for a SMART Board and this usually happens when you are already balancing so many other things. SMART has free to use downloadable SMART Board activities/lessons for grades K-12.
Hope you find an activity or two for your classroom.
