Attention math and science teachers, here is a way to integrate technology in your teaching! There is a free site called Create A Graph and on it your students can create a graph of their choice and specify values. This is a far easier way to build a quality graph than using Excel. Try Create A Graph out with your students. When they are finished they can save it or print it.

Numbernut.com is a great site for math. The only thing you have to make sure you have is a Flash plug-in. If you have it you are ready to start the activities, just click a category. It’s all there, everything from shapes, counting, dates and times, fractions, and decimals to basic and advanced activities. Try it out, this is good way to integrate technology into your teaching.

Trust me, there is some good stuff on here. It’s called FREE-Federal Resources for Educational Excellence. It’s well organized by topic/subject and most of the sites that I looked at were very relevant and useful. Be sure to scroll down a bit on the FREE site for specific categories.

We all know that often students are not paying attention during class. Why not give them an alternative or some support online? Algebasics has tutorials for a variety of algebra topics which students can view and listen to at will. Algebasics would be great for students that are stuck on a problem or concept and need some clarification. Plus, they can view them from home.

This is a must site for math teachers. It’s called The Math Worksheet Site, and it’s full of free printable (pdf) math worksheets for your classes. They even have worksheets for telling time, graphing, and measurement.
For future reference, or to look at our other math resources, take a look at the TIC Recommends page.

What a neat site. I wish I had access to something like this growing up as a struggling math student. This site was recommended to me by a student of mine, so a thanks to M.O. for telling me about it.
Math Playground has it all.
1. Math Games: A variety of games that will challenge any student.
2. Word Problems: (I hate word problems)
3. Logic Puzzles: (I like) Includes puzzles like Tetra Squares, Sudoku, and Battleship.
4. Math Videos: Probably the highlight of the site, videos explaining math concepts.

Decimal Squares is a fun site for students and teachers. It actually make’s learning about decimals fun, something I struggled with during the two years I taught a period of mathematics. There are 8 interactive games that involve decimals.
The Decimal Squares site is real easy to use, but you will need a Shockwave plug-in if you don’t already have it. You can also download it for free off of the site.
Math teachers, do you find this site useful?

Mathematics is a difficult subject to make engaging for students. Incorporating technology can also be challenging, believe me, I tried teaching Math for two years.
Math Live offers a lot of valuable activities, these are the two I found most useful:
1. Lessons: These are really well done animations of a variety of topics: Numbers, Patterns and Relations, Shape and Space, and Statistics and Probability. Each lesson also comes with a worksheet (PDF) that students can use.
2. Glossary: These activities work well with a SMART board if you have one. Again, the range of topics here is huge.
Any Math teachers find Math Live useful? I’d like to hear from you.

Why I didn’t hear of this site before I have no idea. The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives is a great site for mainly math but many of the manipulatives are just good thinking/problem solving for all classes.
They have activities for Pre-K to 12. Subjects include number and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data analysis/probability.

Looking to spice up your Math class? Want to integrate an interactive whiteboard? Try multiplication.com. There are a variety of games, teaching tools, and resources that you can try for your classroom to stimulate learning.
A game that comes highly recommended is Granny Prix and Fish Shop.
